ART±BIO Science Murals: Communicating Science Through Public Art
Science Murals are an ongoing public art initiative by the ART±BIO Collaborative that began in 2016. Science Murals showcase dynamic plant and animal imagery and feature thematic scientific concepts to showcase unique habitats and model study organisms.  They communicate the scientific research of underrepresented scientists conducted inside laboratories and institutions that are often inaccessible to marginalized communities. Found in El Paso, Texas and Cambridge, Massachusetts, Science Murals are created by
Stephanie Dowdy-Nava and Saúl S. Nava, Ph.D.in collaboration with community organizations and with the talent, support, and expertise of local artists, scientists, and educators.
